Osun Youths Rally Behind Governor Adeleke as He Unveils New Party


●Ademola Adeleke being the most youth-friendly Governor of Osun, is the political compass of young people in the state.



The Osun Youth Coalition has declared strong support for Governor Ademola Adeleke following the unveiling of his new political platform, describing the development as a timely and strategic step that aligns with the expectations of young people across the state.


In a statement issued in Osogbo, Babawale Jamiu Popoola, Spokesperson of the Osun Youth Coalition, said the coalition’s position is grounded in clear and measurable progress recorded under the current administration. According to him, youths are not offering symbolic support but are responding to visible reforms, opportunities and inclusion.


“Ademola Adeleke being the most youth-friendly Governor of Osun, is the political compass of young people in the state,” Babawale said.


He explained that young citizens have enjoyed the highest level of participation in government under Governor Adeleke, ranging from strategic appointments to opportunities in technology, innovation and civic programmes. He listed the evident youth empowerments, prioritization of youth-focused policies, the e-governance rollout and the Governor’s continued engagements with youth organisations as key factors behind their endorsement.


Popoola added that the newly unveiled party provides a credible and organised platform through which young people can drive political ideas, influence policies and contribute to a progressive vision for Osun. He noted that the party’s emerging structure reflects the values young people seek; fairness, openness and development-focused leadership.


He highlighted the Governor’s record in education upgrades, community development projects, welfare improvements and his consistent accessibility as further justification for the coalition’s support. These, he said, have earned him trust and positioned him as a unifying figure among youth constituencies.


Babawale Jamiu Popoola said the coalition is ready to mobilise across all local governments, using grassroots networks and digital channels to build broad support for the Governor and the new political movement.


Governor Adeleke, acknowledging the show of solidarity, restated his commitment to a political environment where young people contribute directly to policy formation, governance and the advancement of Osun State.
