Don’t Drag Us into Your Mess – Osun PDP Warns APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has described the misleading statement issued by the oppositon, All Progressives Congress (APC) as a baseless rant from a disorganised party drowning in its own internal crisis. The PDP said Osun people are too politically aware to be deceived by the APC’s sudden cry of foul play, noting that the party should face its self-inflicted confusion rather than dragging the ruling party into it.

Reacting to the release, the party Director of Media, Hon. Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji, said the APC’s accusations were nothing but a desperate cover-up for its ongoing internal implosion. “It is laughable that a party neck-deep in leadership battles and endless factional disputes is accusing the PDP of fabrications. The truth is that the Osun APC is at war with itself, and its frustrated leaders are merely seeking scapegoats to mask their disunity. Their problem is not the PDP, their problem is themselves,” the statement read.

"Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is too focused on service delivery to be distracted by the noise from a troubled opposition. Our Governor is busy working for the people. Roads are being constructed, health centres are being revitalized, schools are being rehabilitated, and workers are being paid as and when due. While the APC is busy trading blames, the PDP government is busy changing lives. That’s the difference,” the statement continued.

The PDP emphasized that the Adeleke government has earned unprecedented goodwill across Osun because it has restored credibility, accountability, and people’s confidence in government. “From teachers to traders, from pensioners to students, everyone can feel the difference. The people are happy, the economy is reviving, and the public service now enjoys dignity. That’s why Osun people stand solidly with the PDP. We don’t need to fabricate stories, our achievements speak louder than their propaganda,” the statement added.

The party also appealed to journalists and members of the public to verify any information coming from the APC camp before believing or publishing it. "We know their tactics — when they are cornered by their internal chaos, they look for who to blame. The media should not fall for their old trick of lies and deflection. The APC’s crisis is homegrown, and the PDP will not be dragged into it,” the statement cautioned.

HOB reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to peace, good governance, and unity in Osun State. “We are not at war with anybody. Our mission is to sustain the light of good governance that Governor Ademola Adeleke has rekindled. We will not trade progress for propaganda or development for distraction. Osun people deserve better than APC’s theatrics,” he said.

The statement concluded by assuring Osun people that the PDP will continue to put their welfare first. “We have no time for distractions. We are busy working, and the people can see it. Osun has moved forward under the light of good leadership, and there is no going back. Let the APC fix its problems, the PDP will keep fixing Osun,” the statement concluded.
