One year in office; Governor Adeleke Giant strides in ICT By Tobi Emmanuel



In just one year in office, the Administration of Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke has made significant achievements in Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy. 

One notable accomplishment is the domestication of the Start-up Act in the state, which aims to provide a supportive framework for the growth and development of start-up companies in the state. This act will encourage innovation, attract investment, and create job opportunities in the sector.

Additionally, Governor Adeleke has also submitted the Osun State ICT Policy to the State House of Assembly for consideration, this policy outlines the Government's vision and strategies for utilizing ICT to drive economic growth and improve service delivery. This policy will ensure that the State leverages technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility across various sectors, such as education, healthcare, agriculture, culture & tourism, public finance and governance.

Furthermore, the Governor has taken a proactive step towards promoting scientific and technological innovation with the introduction of the State Science and Technological Innovation Policy Bill. This when signed into law aims to create an enabling environment for research and development, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and facilitate the commercialization of innovative ideas and inventions.

These initiatives demonstrate Governor Adeleke's commitment to harnessing the transformative power of ICT for the benefit of the people of Osun State. With the implementation of the Start-up Act, the State can expect a surge in entrepreneurial activities and job creation. The state ICT Policy will pave the way for improved service delivery and increased efficiency in Governance. Lastly, the Science and Technological Innovation Bill will foster a culture of innovation and position Osun State as a hub for technological advancements.

Governor Ademola Adeleke's achievements in ICT within just one year of his administration are commendable. These initiatives will undoubtedly propel the state towards becoming a leading player in the digital economy, attracting investments, creating employment opportunities, and improving the overall quality of life for the people of Osun State.

Osun State: New Statutory Commission Members Sworn into Office OSOGBO - 13/11/2023 - Osunstate.gov.ng New members of state statutory commissions including those of the State Judicial Service Commission have been sworn into office by the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi. The swearing in followed the confirmation of the nominees as forwarded to the State Assembly by Governor Ademola Adeleke. Those confirmed and sworn in include chairmen and members of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Osun State Judicial Service Commission, Osun State Civil Service Commission, and Osun State House of Assembly Service Commission. OSOGBO - 16/11/2023 - Osunstate.gov.ng The Commissioner for Justice and   Attorney General of Osun State,Mr Wole Jimi-Bada has cleared Governor Ademola Adeleke of involvement in the stepping aside of Mrs Adepele Ojo, which was predicated on a petition that prompted her being ask to step aside from office. In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the Commissioner narrated that a strongly worded petition was sent to the State Judicial Service Commission and the State House of Assembly, which lead to the hearing and eventual resolution of the State House of Assembly to ask the  the Chief Judge to step aside.
