Ajagunla's Magnanimous Gesture: N11 Million Donation and Promise of Two 500KVA Transformers during Ajagunla Day Festivities By Samson Oladayo Popoola
DISTINGUISHED Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has made a substantial donation of N11 million during the 2023 Ajagunla Day Celebration held yesterday at Ila Mini Stadium, Ila-Orangun.
The event, which took place yesterday Saturday, 18th November, 2023 witnessed a heartfelt commitment from the Ajagunla of Yorubaland, Senator Fadeyi towards the development of Ila-Orangun. A breakdown of the generous donation reveals a commendable allocation of N5million in cash from himself, his family and the entire Fadeyi dynasty. An additional N5million was contributed on behalf of the Distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Notably, Senator Fadeyi dedicated N1million all in support of the upgrading of the palace square and development initiatives in Ila-Orangun.
Highlighting his commitment to infrastructural development, the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Trade and Investment, Senator Ajagunla Fadeyi, pledged to deliver two 500KVA Transformers to serve the residents of Ila-Orangun as part of his commitment to improving the lives of the people in his constituency.
During the occasion, Bobamofin of Ondo Kingdom, Senator Fadeyi expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for the substantial support towards to Ila-Orangun township. He acknowledged the Governor Adeleke's contributions to social economy, health and road infrastructure, including the planned elevation of Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun to a degree-awarding institution.
Senator Ajagunla also conveyed his appreciation to the Adeleke dynasty specifically Dr. Deji Adeleke, the Yeyewura of Ila-Orangun and the Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Chief (Dr) Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, for their passion for the Orangun throne as well as significant contributions to the development of Ila-Orangun.
As a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing the good people of Osun Central Senatorial District, the Harvard Senior Executive Fellow, Senator Fadeyi, pledged continued dedication to the progress and prosperity of the 10 local governments under his watch.
The event, which was aimed at celebration and raising funds for the upgrading of the palace square, had Chief (Dr) Adebisi Bamdele Akande, CFR, former Governor of Osun State and the Asiwaju Ila-Orangun as the Father of the Day, while Yeyewura of Ila-Orangun, Chief (Dr) Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, was the Mother of the Day and Chief Launcher. His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Bolaji Yahaya Muhammed Atalaye 11, Olupa of Ajase-Ipa was the Royal Father of The Day and Alayeluwa Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Larooye II, Ataoja of Osogbo was the Royal Guest of Honour.
Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, LLM, HBS, HKS, Distinguished Senator, Federal Republic of Nigeria was the Chairman of the occasion with His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Wahab Oyedotun Arutu Oluokun Bibiire I, the Orangun of Ila as the Distinguished Royal Host and His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State as the Special Guest of Honour.
