The caretaker Chairman of Isokan Local Government, Apomu, Alhaji Azeez Lateef Adeniran MAO has approved the construction of Karonwi bridge for the use of the people.
This decision is in a bid to make movement in Apomu community easier for residents.
In his address while inspecting the affected areas, the chairman said; "Immediate reports got to me when this bridge collapsed some months ago. I came here to check the situation of things but I had no power over it, I only reported the incidents to the appropriate authority. I was just a party leader then, but thank God, today, I am here as the chairman of Isokan local Government to provide a lasting solution to the problem.
I also heard it and I saw it myself the epileptic conditions of Barale to Lagbaja road, I've given a directive to the Director of Works to start the grading with immediate effect. This is a temporary solution to reduce the menace our people are facing daily and to ease the commuters pending the time the permanent provisions would be made". The chairman noted.
The chairman assured the residents of the affected area that the Department of Works would supervise the projects thoroughly. He enjoined them to be part of the supervision and report any lapses to his office.
Speaking after the inspections, the director of Works, Isokan Local Government, Engn. Adegboye Rasheed, said his department has received the approval of the construction of Karonwi Bridge, the grading of Barale to Lagbaja as well as the completion of the customary court, Apomu.
He noted that the Chairman has shown passion and the zeal to put smiles on the faces of the masses and make life bearable, hence the approval given to embark on the projects,” said Engn. Adegboye.
The chairman also inspects the ongoing renovation of three blocks of seven classrooms at Africa Primary School, Agbowo Apomu. He charged the engineers to hasten their work for the usage of the students as the new academic session was about to commence.
The head of the Local Government Administration, Mrs. Adedeji Unice was also in attendance during the inspections.
