Isokan Local Government Distributes Palliative Receives From the Government. 



In tandem with the template set by Osun State Government Palliative Committee, Isokan Local Government Apomu yesterday April 4th of September distributed its share of the rice palliatives to the selected groups and associations in the council area.


This is contained in a statement issued by the chairman to the media department of the local Government. While addressing the relevant stakeholders and groups at the Local Government Secretariat, the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Azeez Lateef Adeniran MAO explained the modality set in place to share the 208 bags of rice received from the Federal Government through Osun State Government.


In his message, he said "We are here this morning for the distribution of the subsidized palliative received from the Federal Government through the State Government. On Friday 1st of September, 208 bags of rice were received from the state Government and 100 bags from it were forwarded to Isokan LCDA, Ikoyi. This is in line with the template set by the state government. 



We understand the intent of this palliative, which is to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal by the Federal government, We understand your plight and your challenges in this trying time, I've instructed my members and the committee that's in charge that not a single grain from the rice should be reserved for anybody who is not included in the template. We want to assure you that this government will not relent in making life bearable for the masses". He concluded. 


The stakeholders who cut across the relevant political parties, religious leaders, Artisans, Market Men and Women, Students, community Youths, pensioners, Civil society, and People with Disabilities ranked the exercise as being transparent. 


In their remarks, the chairman and the members of his cabinet were applauded for handling the distribution with transparency, accountability, and an open mindset. 


The distribution also has in attendance the following groups with their representatives,

2. Apomu Muslim community (I. Chief Imam ii. Supreme iii. United)

7. The Osun transport management system, Apomu branch (TMS)

9. The Baloguns.

10. INEC officials, NOA, LEGION, CDC

11. People living with disabilities (PLWDs)

12. The Security personnel (Police, Civil Defence, Amotekun corps, DSS, Road safety, OPC )

13. The Hoteliers Association.

14. The Labour Union (NULGE, Private teachers)

15. The pensioner (Contributory and old)

16. The traders (Olowo marketers)

17. Apomu Council of Youths.

The program was supervised by the Isokan Local Government head of the department, the Directors of each department, the Chairman, the Vice-chairman, the secretary, and all the cabinet members of the Local Government.
