Governor Adeleke will not relent to create employment opportunities for citizens - Rev. Bunmi Jenyo
Osun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will not relent in his efforts to create avenues for job opportunities to reduce the level of poverty amongst its citizenry.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev Bunmi Jenyo made this disclosure while inspecting the Skills Acquisition Centres, donated by the office of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), located in Dagbolu and Iragbiji towns.
Rev. Jenyo explained that the facilities and equipments at the centres are meant for various vocational activities under the Skills Acquisition Training Programme of the Federal Government.
He however frowned at the level of abandonment and neglect the facilities and equipments have suffered from the immediate past administration of the State.
Despite the amount of money, running to billions of naira, expended on the project by the Federal government, to better the lots of Osun people, it was not put to use.
Varying quipments for vocations like Hairdressing, Barbing, Tailoring, ICT, Carpentry, Vulcanizing, Welding, Bricklaying etc and facilities such as Food Canteen, Medical Bay, Hostel Accommodation for participants of the training programmes are available, and in good condition at the centres, but are under lock and keys.
The Commissioner hinted that Governor Adeleke will adopt necessary measures and best practices of international standard, to ensure the equipments at the centres are used for the benefit of citizens of the State, especially the youths and women.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Commissioner for Empowerment and Cooperatives, Hon. Bayo Ogungbangbe, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Ayofe Olatunji Moroof and the Special Adviser to the Governor on SDG, Mr. Bamikole Omishore.
Others are the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mrs Kehinde Odediran, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Empowerment and Cooperatives, Mr. Olagunju, Director of Industry, Mr Tajudeen Adigun, Deputy Director Industry Mr. Onigbinde, Asst. Director Industry, Mr. Kunle Abimbola, Information officer of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ademiotan Adegbulugbe, among others.
