Setting the Record Straight: Honourable Clement Akanni's "Fresher" Transformational Representation vs. Fakeye's "Landlord" Misguided Assertions
Our attention has been drawn to a lifeless, drab, and arid post purportedly written by an individual who had an inglorious and unremarkable time representing Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Femi Fakeye.
While he attempted to “explain with no evidence” his bland 12 years journey as representative of our constituency, the "Landlord" towed a dishonorable path by disrespecting the personality of a Man who has put up measures to redefine representation and stewardship in Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency, Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni (Olohunwa).
We were disappointed to read his statement attempting to discredit the remarkable giant strides of Hon. Clement Akanni. While political discourse is an essential aspect of our democracy, such discussions must be grounded in truth and respect.
His attempt to belittle the Osun NASS members' contributions by labeling them "freshers" is both unfair and misleading. This is a deliberate tactic to undermine his efforts and achievements. However, let me remind the "Landlord" that experience and dedication to one's constituents are far more important than mere political longevity.
Meanwhile, Hon. Clement Akanni is not new to the art of legislature and giving back to constituents. His achievements as a member of Osun State House of Assembly are still very visible and serve their purposes across the length and breadth of the Ila constituency and even beyond.
While he may attempt to take credit for projects and strides that Hon. Clement Akanni is working tirelessly to initiate, the reality is quite different. The constituents of Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency are well aware of the projects that have been initiated, supported, and successfully executed during the tenure of everyone that has represented Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency since 1999 and they can testify that Hon. Clement Akanni’s commitment to transparency and accountability has set a new standard for representation in our constituency.
Moreover, the "Landlord’s" implication that being a "fresher" disqualifies someone from making meaningful contributions is not only baseless but also disrespectful to the intelligence and judgment of the electorate. True leadership is not solely determined by years in office but by the impact and positive change that a representative brings to their constituency.
The failed politician’s statement is more focused on personal attacks than addressing the issues that truly matter to our constituents. Rather than resorting to divisive language and false claims, we urge him to engage in a constructive dialogue that focuses on the betterment of Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency.
Initiating projects to score cheap political points is not enough but thorough follow-up to ensure that the projects see the light of the day is most glorious. While he failed during his twelve years to carry out his primary responsibility of representing his constituents, Akanni has thrived within a very short time of two months.
To put the record straight, Hon. Akanni upon resumption in Abuja, deployed his skills in networking and connections, which are beyond being a landlord in the National Assembly. He visited several ministries, agencies, and parastatals of government in Abuja.
The visits were purposely to drive attention to our community in terms of budget preparation and follow-up on some matters that were in the taste of conscious follow-up. He discovered some hidden things and he chose to scout for dividends that would be of benefit to his constituents.
These visitations include;
*A working visit to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Abuja, to address water scarcity issues.
* A working visit to the Ministry of Power and Energy, which facilitated a team of technocrats to visit the community.
* A working visit to the National Productivity Center, aimed at fostering socio-economic growth.
* A working visit to the National Directorate of Employment, focusing on talent discovery and improved outputs.
* faicilatated the visit of a team of experts on from the Ecology agency to rehabilitate eroded roads and sites badly affected by erosions.
Other giant strides in the pipeline include;
* Plans to facilitate the establishment of a Federal Technical College in Otan-Ayegbaju, with assistance sought from community leader Prof Olu Aina.
* Plans to facilitate the establishment of a Federal Agricultural Scheme in Oke-Ila Orangun to boost agricultural activities and increase farm product yields.
* An exixsting accessible WhatsApp platform for graduates, professionals, job seekers, and others in need of employment without discrimination or favouritism.
One will recall that during the "Landlord's" rudderless administration, a road project meant for Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency was diverted to the road leading to his house in Osogbo. This is one of the reasons why Hon. Clement Akanni had to visit and followed-up the ministries' visit to ensure that the "landlord" had not wired the system to constantly divert the project of the Federal Constituency to his personal use.
When you wrestle with the pig, the pig gets happy and you get dirty. For this reason, we will resist joining words with the "Landlord" or any of his proxies. Rather, we will state unequivocally that, we stand by Hon. Clement Akanni's commitment and his dedication to our constituency. We reject any attempts to diminish his efforts and will continue to support his transformative work for the betterment of the Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal constituency.
