HON. OLALEKAN ANGELO IJIWOYE: A LOVER OF HUMANITY 


Quite an unprecedented occurrence at Ife Ooye Local Council Development Area (Ife Ooye LCDA) as the newly appointed Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye surprised the entire workforce of the Council by clearing all the outstanding Imprests owed to the careerists. It was Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye’s FIRST DAY in office, having met with the Head of Local Government Area, Mrs. Omolayo Adepoju and the Directors of the various departments, gave the approval to pay all the outstanding Imprests owed to the careerists and other agencies.

In his remarks, the ever capable and intellectual entity, Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye stated that he was moved by the yearnings of the workers concerning the outstanding funds owed, especially at this treacherous period that goods and services are costly all over the country. As at the release of this news, payments have been made to the said careerists and other affected agencies, in the tune of Five Million Naira, N5, 000,000. It was joy galore as the workers expressed their gratitude to the unexpected gesture, especially that it was Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye’s first day in the office.


In his own words, the Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Executives, NULGE, stated that him and his team were shocked to see such a gesture, especially coming from a political functionary that just resumed work on the first day. In a messaged chat to Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye, Comrade Odesanmi Olaolu stated as follows: “Hon Chairman sir, I want to sincerely appreciate and thank you greatly for your compassion and good heart towards the entire staff of Ife Ooye LCDA on your gracious approval and payment of two months outstanding imprest, first day in your office. Honestly sir, you have not only lifted the moral of our members high but also cool our tensions and raise our hope in you as our green pen. Mr Chairman Sir, you have shown exceptional leadership and it gladden our heart as a union. On behalf of the NULGE Excos and entire staff, i say a big thank you sir and pray that you will succeed in all ramifications of your governance.

What else is there to say than to appreciate Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye for putting the LCDA workers first. He could have passed it off as debt incurred before his appointment and resumption, but he did not. If you would ask any reasonable person, this is the kind of brain needed at the third tier of Government. The PDP Leaders in the axis, led by Prof. Adewale Oladipo got it right by sending such a Pedigree of Excellence to chart the course of Ife Ooye LCDA, a fully fledged Local Council in Ife east State Constituency of Ife Federal Constituency. This development came after the heavily attended Inauguration Ceremony to celebrate Hon. Olalekan Angelo Ijiwoye and his team, at the School of Science, Ile Ife, on Sunday August 20th, 2023. The event featured a score of PDP Leaders, especially His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kolawole Adewusi and the former National Secretary of PDP, who is also a current BOT member, Professor Adewale Oladipo.
