World Population Day 2023: Embracing Gender Equality and Family Planning for Sustainable Growth by PS Min of Health, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle

The Permanent Secretary Osun State Ministry of Health, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle in view of the global increasing population has declared that there is need to manage the situation.

Dr. Adekunle stated this while speaking on the annual World Population Day 2023 which has its theme "Power of Gender Equality"

The Permanent Secretary noted that the girl child should be allowed to aspire and be all that she can be and shouldn't be discriminated against because of her gender.

Concerning the growing population Dr Isiaka Adekunle pointed out that family planning is the only way out as the population is growing faster than the resources available.

He however stated the responsibility of family planning should be borne by both the man and the woman and not in left to the woman alone.

Dr Isiaka urged people to only give birth to the number of children they can cater for and afford to educate. This he said will ensure balance between the resources available and the population.
