7/7: OSUN Police On Red Alert Over Planned Cultism Day

OSUN State Police Command has issued a warning to faceless cultists and their collaborators in Osun to jettison the idea of celebrating Cultism Day on Friday, July 7, 2023.

This was contained in a Press Release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, SP Yemisi Opalola on Thursday.

Opalola said Area Commanders have been given marching orders to be at alert and to be battle ready to deal with unscrupulous elements and their collaborators in the State.

The intelligence that availed the police command revealed that, Cultists are planning to mark July 7, 2023 to celebrate cultism. Also, intelligence further revealed that, some unscrupulous elements from other states are entering Osun State for the same purpose. In view of this, the command therefore warns cultists and other unscrupulous elements in the state to jettison the plan or any of such action(s) forthwith as the command is earnestly monitoring their activities

Consequently, the Command in collaboration with other security agents and Civilian JTF will not tolerate any unlawful gathering or assembly that will endanger the peaceful atmosphere of the state, as the plan to mark 7/7 may lead to blood shedding and destruction of properties.

Therefore, the Commissioner of Police has given marching orders to the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Tactical units to be at alert and nip in the bud any act capable of truncating the peace of the state.

The CP advises parents and guardians to caution their wards to be law abiding, and desist from any act or unlawful gathering/ assembly before, during and beyond the said date, as the Command will arrest and prosecute defaulters.
