Commissioner for Federal Affairs Resumes, Tasks Staff

Commissioner for Federal Affairs Resumes, Tasks Staff on Five Point Agenda

The Commissioner for Federal Affairs, Mrs. Adenike Adeleke has promised to work with relevant partners to facilitate inclusive growth for Osun state, noting her readiness to resolve all impediments that is denying the state the benefits of all assets in the federal capital territory.

The Commissioner made the pledge upon her resumption to office in Osogbo last week, enjoining staffs of the ministry and agencies under her supervision to key into the five point agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Mrs. Adeleke acknowledged the role of the Ministry in tapping into opportunities for the state at the federal level, disclosing to all the Directors and Program Managers in a meeting at the Ministry of her desire to fast track collaboration with the central government to the benefits of Osun people.

The Commissioner who embarked on a tour of facilities in the Ministry, noted her commitment to an improved working condition for workers in the Ministry in order to guaranteed optimal performance, charging them to rededicate themselves to the mandate of the Ministry.

During the week, the Commissioner made a trip to the Liaison Office in Abuja, where she met the Director and all staff, and discussed her plan to ensure better service. She also visited the Asokoro Governor's lodge, tasking all personnel to show renewed commitment to their duties.

The Commissioner took a tour of all properties belonging to Osun state in the federal capital territory, declaring resolve to address issues on some of them and make sure the state enjoys value for the investment put into them.

Mrs. Adeleke was particularly worried at the deplorable condition of the abandoned Osun House in the Central area of Wuse 2, promising to look into the issues denying the state the prospect of the project, while also expressing readiness to focus on assets belonging to the state under litigation.

Executive Retreat: Governor Adeleke Reaffirms Five Point Agenda, Tasks Commissioners & Advisers on Good Governance

Executive Retreat: Governor Adeleke Reaffirms Five Point Agenda, Tasks Commissioners & Advisers on Good Governance

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has warned his newly inaugurated commissioners and advisers against corrupt conduct even as he restated his commitment to the full implementation of the five point agenda.

Declaring open a three day executive retreat for commissioners and advisers, Governor Adeleke rolled out principles which he called on all appointees to abide with, pointing out that the realisation of the five point agenda will provide a solid foundation for a new Osun State.

Taking time to update the participants of the five point agenda, the State Chief Executive  officer re-emphasised details of his governance agenda as follows:

"First line charge for workers’ welfare, salaries, gratuities, and pensions: The above flows from the close link between formal and informal workforce in Osun State. When state workers are well treated, the informal sector booms as Osun is for now almost a civil service state. So in your policy framework, you must be mindful of the likely impact on workers, both within and out of government. Our policies and programmes must be workers' friendly;

"Boosting state economy by business partnering and support for business class: Osun faces twin setbacks of poverty and unemployment. To change the narrative, we must deepen the state economy through incentives and an enabling environment for the business class. Here, the class covers the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) and the market operators across gender. We must introduce policies that will increase the state GDP through prosperity of the business community. In return, a booming state economy will employ more job seekers and enhance tax revenues to bridge the infrastructure deficit.

"Osun money serving Osun people through homegrown infrastructure policy: Osun state has suffered multi-billion naira capital flight in the last 12 or so years. That unfortunate past is responsible for this agenda of localisation. This implies the government patronizing local suppliers and contractors. State fund thus revolves within the local economy, deepening state growth and ensuring local economy expansion. We are to address infrastructure gaps through local affordable options. Part of localisation is our direct labour policy, this reduces cost of projects, ensures standard monitoring, creates local jobs and empower local business class. You must therefore avoid exporting contracts and services outside the state except where there is no local alternative. We must not repeat the errors of the past which were responsible for the present precarious state.

"People-focused social policy through skill-based education, affordable health care, state security, and social security support: Osun was in the past a victim of fanciful policy designs which neglected the people and relegated their interests to the background. We must run a people-centric government. Have it at the back of your mind that the principal goal of government is the welfare of the people. So we must ensure reforms in education, health, women and youth sectors that positively impact on the people. As politicians, it makes sense for us to genuinely serve the people. They voted for us. Constitutionally, governments are set up for the welfare of the citizenry.

"Agro-based Industrialisation for wealth and job creation for youths and women: Osun is a state blessed with multiple resources as a traditionally agricultural state. Our Industrialisation efforts should be agricultural based in addition to other sectors such as solid minerals. We must create industrial parks, agriculture processing zones alongside our free trade zones. The target should be the development of value chains of agricultural products to access local and international markets. This will energize and engage our women and youth and transform Osun from its present civil service status", the Governor told the team.

He proceeded to admonish the commissioners and advisers, adding "I expect all appointees to uphold these principles in public and private conduct as follows:

"Responsive Government: We must all beware of conduct injurious to the welfare of the public. We should be responsive at all times to the aspirations of the citizenry.  We must remain of the people, by the people and for the people;

"Honesty and integrity in public service: The public is watching us. The opposition is monitoring our actions and inactions. You must be above board. Corrupt conduct will be heavily sanctioned.

"Innovation in Governance: Osun is confronted with multiple governance questions, yet, our financial resources are limited. Our only option is to think out of the box. As heads of MDAs, I charge you to be very innovative. You are to generate and implement problem solving ideas within the framework of the five point agenda;

"Prudence in Governance: In times of national economic emergency, I love achieving much with little resources. You must be prudent and adopt measures that reduce the cost of projects and services.

"United team Work: I am a team player. I expect synergy and collaboration. You must avoid infighting as much as possible. If you are in doubt, approach the Chief of Staff for clarifications. There won't be any room for solo actors in our cabinet. You must work as a team with a common goal to make a difference in the lives of our people.

"Harmony with Bureaucrats: We must get it clear that while the commissioners are the political heads of the Ministries, the permanent secretaries are the accounting officers. We must therefore work with the public service within the context of public sector laws and regulations. Political appointees must respect public service rules.

"Due Process /Rule of Law: Above all, my leadership is about due process and rule of law. You must not cut corners. I will not compromise transparency and accountability", he explained.

While lauding the partnership for development among the three arms of government, the Governor advocated sustenance of the close relationship among the executive, legislative and executive arms of government to achieve good governance.

The opening programme for the retreat was attended by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye; The Head of Service, Mr Samuel Ayanleye Aina, the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon Sunday Bisi; the House of Assembly Speaker, Hon Adewale Egbedun; the Deputy Speaker, Hon Oyewusi Akinyode; the Orangun of Oke Ila, His Royal Highness, Adedokun Abolarin; permanent secretaries, members of the House of Assembly and Special Advisers among others.

Encomiums As Governor Adeleke Approves Another Batch of Half Salary Owed by APC Administration in Osun

By Saliu Nofisat Opeyemi

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the payment of another batch of half salary arrears owed to state and local government civil servants by the previous administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The approval, was announced in a statement by the Spokesperson/Special Adviser to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.

The approval has been met with widespread encomiums from civil servants and other stakeholders in the state.

In a statement, the Advocates of Good Governance (AGG) said that the approval was a "welcome development" and "a sign of good faith" on the part of the Governor.

The AGG also called on the Governor to ensure that the remaining arrears are paid as soon as possible.

Similarly, the state chapter of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) said that the approval was "a major step in the right direction" and "an exhibition of the Governor's love to the people of Osun."

The NYC Chairman, Akinboode also called on the Governor to continue to prioritize the welfare of workers in the state.

The approval of the half salary arrears is the latest in a series of steps taken by Governor Adeleke to improve the welfare of workers in the state.

In the past few months, the Governor has continued to approve the payment of backlog of salaries owed by the APC Administration to civil servants, as well as the payment of backlogs of pension arrears.

These actions have been welcomed by civil servants and other stakeholders in the state, who have expressed their appreciation to the Governor for his commitment to the welfare of workers.

The approval of the half salary arrears is a further demonstration of Governor Adeleke's commitment to democracy and good governance.

Afforestation Is Going To Be My Top Priority, Says Osun Commissioner for Environment

Afforestation Is Going To Be My Top Priority, Says Osun Commissioner for Environment

Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, Osun State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, has announced plans by his ministry to plant more trees to accelerate afforestation in the State.

Hon. Adejoorin made the disclosure while featuring on OSBC Radio, Breakfast Tray on Saturday.

The commissioner noted that having gone through the available reports of the ministry, the rate of deforestation are faster than the rate of tree planting, saying he is going to organise a sensitisation program to sensitise communities on the dangers associated with tree felling as well as to encourage tree planting in the society.

He added that: “Yes, I'm aware that my ministry is a revenue generating ministry, hence we can generate more revenue through afforestation.

"The people that are engaged in deforestation are not actually planting back, particularly the wood exporters, loggers and charcoal association, they are the ones cutting trees.

"As we progress, I am going to organise a seminar to sensitise them that if they continue cutting trees at the rate they are doing, they will be out of business very soon because there will be no tree to cut again.

“Apart from going out of business they are also doing damage to the environment and once the environment is wrong our health is at risk”.

"Afforestation is going to be my legacy that I believe will even outlive me, because where I am occupying today is for a while, some people were there yesterday."

Speaking on the flood that occurred in Ikire in Irewole local government, the commissioner assured the people that government is working on how to make sure that the water ways are dregged. He however urged residents to desist from dumping refuse on water ways.

The former Obokun local government boss applauded Governor Adeleke for his people oriented programmes which according to him have been yielding good result, as he called on the people of the state to continue supporting the current adminstration so that the good governance they've been enjoying in the last few months would continue.

Workers Welfare: Adeleke is showing us what commitment can do

Workers Welfare: Adeleke is showing us what commitment can do

By Ibrahim Sarafa

In the beginning, only few could be persuaded that the half-salary debt conundrum that had dogged Osun state for quite some years can be salvaged. Even when Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed sincere commitment to clear the mess, his opponents, particularly Gboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor, pushed so hard to create a sense of impossibility.

And you can't really blame him, because we all saw how horrible his best was for the state. In fact, it was part of his inadequacies that created the mess that Governor Adeleke offered to clear, and so, he may find it so hard to see that it can be done.

It is worthy to note that the Adeleke administration inherited N20bn half salary debt as well as over N50bn in entitlements to retirees. Although, the figures are frightening, and capable of stirring concerns on how to go about it considering the economic situation of Osun state, but Governor Adeleke was unwavering, which is clearly the hallmark of true leadership.

Typical of a leader who meant well, Governor Adeleke accepted the challenge posed by the half-salary debt, and as a way out, released a template to follow in the payment of the owed salaries. In the template signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Samuel Aina in February, the Adeleke administration committed to paying the salary debt every quarter.

Just as outlined, Governor Adeleke, paid two months of the half-salary to workers and pensioners in the first quarter of the year. And only today, the Spokesperson to the governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, announced the approval of Governor Adeleke to pay another month of the half salary.

This will bring payments of the half-salary to three months, and even impressive, inline with the template put up by the government in February.

Shortly after the news of the approval, someone reached out to me to know how it was possible for Governor Adeleke to achieve what Oyetola claimed was impossible and could not attempt in the 48-months he was in office.

Well, this is not unexpected. For the four years that Oyetola was governor, he practically ignored series of pleas to see to the payment of the owed salaries. Even when he's reminded of his promise to offsetting the debt, Oyetola cite paucity of fund as an excuse to dodge off question of responsibility.

In short, unlike his predecessor, Governor Adeleke is showing us what commitment can do. While Osun finances is in distress due to gross mismanagement of the past, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated fiscal discipline to ensure that the meager available resources of the state truly serves the benefit of the people.

This is why Governor Adeleke could go on to implement the template to clear the half salary debts he inherited from the past administration. This is not so different from the cash backing of promotions of civil servants done by the past administration by Governor Adeleke. Oyetola had in 2019 approved promotion for civil servants but it was Governor Adeleke in May this year who made sure the benefit doesn't end on paper but truly reflect in the salary of workers.

The impressive thing here is that, these kind of gestures is not limited to active workers but also senior citizens, who were also largely abandoned by the previous administration. Between November 27, 2022 and now, Governor Adeleke has released billions in bonds to clear entitlements of retired personnel of the state. Only recently, Governor Adeleke approved nearly half a billion to settle the pension claims of 734 pensioners on the old pension scheme in the state. This is in addition to the ambitious plan to enrol retirees on health insurance scheme to cater for their health needs at old age.

So far, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated genuine commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners. In the midst of little, he strived so hard to make sure that people who laboured for the state are not ignored as their benefits is given priority. This is leadership that Osun state deserves, and just as we can clearly see, is making the difference, not just for the welfare of civil servants, but also senior citizens who gave the best of their lives in the service of the state.

[OPINION] Re: Olawale Rasheed and mess cleansing task

[OPINION] Re: Olawale Rasheed and mess cleansing task

By Mallam Olawale Rasheed

When a writer described a popular performing state Governor  as a clown, what claim has such a person to complain about abusive words? In enlightened discourse, it is morally right to respect our leaders irrespective of political affiliations. When Ismail persisted in his abusive write ups against the person of the Governor, it is right and apt to respond in kind.

Having said that, I must posit here that  I am never a hired hand engaged after an election victory to join the government.  Unlike some media workers who were engaged as press secretary after an election victory, I have been a political player in Osun State since the early days of the defunct Social Democratic Party. In 1999 , I was the director of Media and Publicity for the PDP Governorship Campaign. In 2018, I managed the media structure , ditto for 2022 guber polls. If there is any mess we are cleaning , it is the misgovernance and maladministration inherited from the Oyetola period.

The members of the public will remember the struggles the present administration passed through before assumption of office. Even after winning election on July 16, there was a concerted push to truncate the will of the people. Through God and mass support, Governor Adeleke assumed office on November 28th, 2022.

Operating in an hostile environment , the administration launched out on a restoration agenda , interfacing with all strata of the society including the media. We are today planning a correspondent chapel building in Osun and we have never invoked the cyber crime prohibition and prevention act against any journalist in the state.

We have avoided open exchange with Ismail for a long time because of several reasons until he crossed the boundary of decency. We defeated Ismail's boss and so we believed he was not worthy of our engagement because of the urgent task of restoring the dignity and integrity of the state.

We have however chosen to now regularly and frontally tackle him simply because he persists in deploying undiluted  falsehood as a tool of communications. In my response to him, I listed how fair and equitable Governor Adeleke has been to all parts of the state. I listed appointments and projects across the state. I have several calls commending that clarifications.

In his usual failed approach, he half-wittedly admitted Ila Orangun indeed enjoyed massive patronage from the present administration-two commissioners, Senator, House of Representatives, Advisers, citing alleged relationship with Ede. He was silent on the Ila General Hospital, another reflection of half truths that failed his principal during elections.

As members of the same political family, is Ismail tagging it a crime being close to the Adeleke family?  Is the greenhorn politician avering that the Governor should appoint his enemies into office?

Why is he changing the goal post? First he said all key appointees are from Ede. When we proved to him that Ede is disadvantaged in the scheme.of things, he belatedly changed it to people with links to Ede. Is that not disingenuous?

Let me press it further. We have both established that big positions and projects abound across the towns including Iwo, my place and Ila Orangun , Omipidan's place. Now are we saying Ede has no right to have her fair share of appointments? Is it a crime to have their son as a Governor?

During your infamous hold on Osun, your boss appointed four Council Managers from only Iragbiji (a town within Boripe Local Government). Your boss granted only Iragbiji born Civil Servants conversion to Officers' cadre.

Governor Adeleke is not like your principal. He gave other towns their fair share. If an Ede man is completing the Osogbo  circular road that your administration abandoned for four years and also completed Osogbo-ikirun road, what is wrong in him acting on Akoda road?  Why must Ede be denied her own allocations?

Even the borehole with video functioning in his family house he finds it difficult to admit. The 332 boreholes executed under direct labour below three million naira he shamelessly tagged as N14 million.

If Ismail is faulting the digital economy drive of the Adeleke governorship, let ask him if Osun has the following under his boss: a state tech innovation policy, a state ICT policy, a start up domestication plan and ongoing fibre optic project which is visible to the blind across the state

If he argues we have no plan, let's ask him how we have reformed the public service with vibrant permanent secretaries rather than the coordinating directors of the Oyetola era. We.debunked his lies that the Governor pledged to clear salary debt within six months. Rather he had issued a template for gradual.payment which he is pursuing religiously.

On revenue and expenditure, Ismail can at least accept that the Adelekes are quite well off and are not parasites on government bailout before assumption of office.

We must put on records that Ismail's constant lies during the campaign was  one of the reasons responsible for the loss of Mr Oyetola during the polls. His not too elegant misrepresentation of facts deepened Osun people's hatred for the APC during the state and National.Assembly elections.

At a time , when most Nigerians are commending Governor Adeleke for superlative performance , my brother was still clinging to his failed narrative of being rigged out of the guber polls. If you were rigged out at July 16 guber polls , were you also rigged out at the State and National Assembly elections?

On the Iree Poly matter, our submission is made and the relevant authorities are.dealing with the issue. One fact is clear, the opposition has failed in its bid to use administrative action on Iree as a springboard for activism. Both ASUP and student bodies have realised the politicisation of the matter by politicians of yesterday.

One last thing, we know each other in the media as you affirmed. I served as Abuja Bureau Chief, Group Politics Editor, Special Assistants to two separate ministers and Director of a policy centre before taking up this job as spokesperson to Governor Adeleke. If you have anything evil about my service records, please open it up.

For now, Osun people are happy with their Governor. Your camp was rejected  at the polls three times this year alone. Today, your party is deeply factionalised in Osun.

Change your tactics brother. You were appointed a press secreatry after Mr Governor Oyetola assumed office , after my brother Adeniyi left on his own volition. You failed to deliver your man because of faulty strategy. Now that you are in opposition, change your approach. It is not late.

And take note of this. A great teacher of propaganda once noted that effectiveness lies in having elements of truths in an overall falsehood. In Ismail's case, his output in Osun politics failed that test, hence his leading his boss to failure at  several strategic points.

RE - MAKING SENSE OF GOVERNOR ADELEKE'S GOVERNANCE MODEL

RE - MAKING SENSE OF GOVERNOR ADELEKE'S GOVERNANCE MODEL

BY Mallam Olawale Rasheed

In Africa, losing elections can cause depression  and psychological disorders. Such sense of loss arising from rejection by the people at times transforms otherwise cultured individuals into deranged activists attempting to assess relevance using the same deceitful tactics that initially accounted for their principal being booted out of office.

Or how else can one explain tagging a man accused of being too pan-Osun as attempting to 'edenise' Osun?

Before responding to the Iree Polytechnic question, it is necessary to have this relevant digression.

Until last night, accusations I have heard against Governor Ademola Adeleke  are mostly that he is over-favouring Osogbo, Ila Orangun, Iwoland, Ijeshaland and Ifeland. Several Ede people have called me privately to question the Governor's neglect of his own town.

Friends called and questioned the Governor's allocation of so many appointments and critical projects to places other than his hometown of Ede. It was thus strange reading from a lone disconnected voice raising false alarms about an 'edenisation' agenda. This allegation flows from residue of 'anigbelemo' mentality from jobless 'olule' operatives.

A friend from Osogbo who sent the piece to me last night asked if the writer is from Mars as he exclaimed that the Governor is 'osogbonising' the state. Is your Governor 's mother from Osogbo Land? he asked jocularly.

Another friend from Boluwaduro called and said Governor Adeleke is 'orangunnising' the state as Ila Orangun alone has the Senator, House of Representatives member, two commissioners and several Advisers. The Governor equipped Ila Orangun State Hospital first instead of Ede State Hospital.

Let me remind readers that Ismail Omipidan is from Ila Orangun. Governor Adeleke sunk a functioning borehole in front of Ismail's family compound at Ila. There is none in front of Govrrnor Adeleke's family house at Ede.

An Ijesa friend of mine at the office yesterday jokingly asked if the Governor is related to Ijeshaland. Probing further, his reason was that five commissioners were appointed from Ijeshaland holding such critical portfolios as Local Government, Agriculture, Health among others. Special Advisers from that zone are uncountable.

He also reminded me of University of Ilesa where Governor Adeleke appointed Ijesamen as Vice Chancellor and Chairmen of the Governing Council respectively. I told him Mr Governor is a super cosmopolitan leader.

For people of Iwoland, they assume the Governor is a closet ally. Two permanent Secretaries, four special Advisers, Director General for Development Projects, Deputy chairman of Muslim Pilgrims Board and Director of Highways for the state are all from Iwo.

A check through the list of permanent secretaries, commissioners and Advisers showed that Ede is not in any way specially favored. Other towns even have a clearer advantage ahead of the Governor's town. And when a list of heads of tertiary institutions in Osun was drawn, Ede is just having one of its own which is not even yet a substantive appointment.

A check through projects executed by the current administration also reflected statewide spread. Construction is now ongoing at the Osogbo circular road abandoned by the Oyetola administration. The Osogbo-Ikirun road has been completed by the Adeleke government with plans to expand the project to Kwara state boundary. Major waterworks in Osun are undergoing rehabilitation with Esa Oke as the first to be attended to, followed by Osogbo, Eko-ende, Iwo and Ede. The current administration has also resolved the nest of corruption that stalled completion of the Ilesa water project and work is set to resume for early completion.

Road and water projects were executed in a manner that covers all the federal constituencies and local governments. Almost 40 kilometers of roads are currently completed spread across the state. Channelization and bridge reconstruction are witnessed from Ile ife to Iwo to Ayedade, osogbo and Irewole.

Only a mind suffering from post- election depression will descend to the pit of hell to accuse the present administration of 'edenisation' agenda in the face of overwhelming evidence and facts to the contrary. Such attacks reflect failure to innovate a logical line of attacks by the opposition against the present government. The piece is an amateurish push to paint black as white to a population that is even more educated than hack writers trying to hoodwink them.

Crash nepotism of the Oyetola's government was still very fresh in the mind of Osun people. His appointment of an unqualified daughter of Iragbiji as Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Agency instead of the most senior official was well publicized, ditto for the nepotistic slant of concentrating  projects at Iragbiji to the neglect of other towns in his local government.

Governor Adeleke on the contrary is favoring people of Ila Orangun, Osogbo, Ijesahalnd, Ifeland, Iwoland and others in a spirit of equity and fairness. The Governor is blind to sectionalism and tribal bent in the state decision making process. He is fixated on delivering on good governance and rescuing the state from the mess created by the Oyetola administration. Incidentally, Osun people are fully aware of the ongoing restoration plan and are too smart to be brainwashed by agents of fake news.

Now to the Iree matter. The school management was accused of corruption in a petition which when investigated necessitated suspension of the Rector pending the outcome of the investigation. To select an acting replacement , the administration found traces of complicity among other senior cadres which will compromise investigation if any of them is to be placed in acting capacity. Hence a decision to pick an acting Rector pending the conclusion of the investigation.

It was with malicious intention to accuse the administration of attempting to manipulate the process leading to the selection of the acting Rector, It is mischievous to even link the Governor directly to the entire process. If the management of an institution is under Investigation, it is smart to have a replacement who was not part of the decision making process that is now the subject of corruption investigation. That the acting Rector is from Ede was immaterial as he was qualified by all the rules especially as he was appointed only in acting  capacity.

In any case , a governing board has been inaugurated by the Governor for Iree Polytechnic whose chairman is now on top of the situation. The Honourable Commissioner for Education has also met the management of the institution.

Stakeholders across the state know there is nothing like an 'edenisation' agenda. What is ongoing is  an anti-corruption fight where corruption is fighting back. When corruption fights back, corrupt elements normally lend their pen to sustain the reign of corruption.

All the cock and bull story by the writer flies in the face of reality. Osun people are experiencing Governor Adeleke not by hyping or fake news but by projects and appointments they see and enjoy.

In the last eight months , the administration has re-engineer governance within the context of good governance, open governance, pro-poor choices, value for money, localization, transparency and accountability.

The bar of governance has been raised significantly hence Osun today has a state ICT policy, a digital economy agenda, a global investment plan, a state sustainable industrial policy, a state tech innovation policy, a localized start up agenda, a not too young to rule agenda, a diaspora integration plan, a state workforce enhancement plan, an integrated youth employment agenda, a functional education programme, a preventive state health philosophy, an infrastructure upgrade programme, a fiber optic broadband project, a climate change action plan and a pro-citizen state leadership among others.

All within eight months!!!

The Adeleke administration is a symbolism of a modernized governance model far away from the anachronistic leadership style of the previous administration. This is not 'snail' leadership. This is a government under a vibrant global citizen.

AYANAGALU DRUM FESTIVAL HOLDS IN ILE-IFE ON FRIDAY AS OONI SENDS DELEGATION TO CANADA FESTIVAL

AYANAGALU DRUM FESTIVAL HOLDS IN ILE-IFE ON FRIDAY AS OONI SENDS DELEGATION TO CANADA FESTIVAL

All roads lead to the ancient city of Ile-Ife the cradle and traditional headquarters of the Oduduwa race as the Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR Ojaja II, The Ooni Of Ife lead monarchs, government functionaries, dignitaries and cultural stakeholders to the AYANAGALU FESTIVAL 2023.

Expected to be attended by participants from within and outside Nigeria, this epoch making cultural event being  coordinated by the  AyanAgalu Ambassador, who doubles as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Adire Oodua Hub, Queen Aderonke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi is slated to hold on Friday 28th July 2023 at the mainbowl of the Ojaja Arena at Ife Grand Resort in Ile-Ife, and it is the second edition of annual AyanAgalu celebrations following its maiden edition which held last year.

While on the surface of the earth as one of the deities that Olodumare sent to the planet earth for the progress, development and happiness of mankind, Ayanagalu consulted the Oracle through Orunmila, the deity of divination on what to do for him to always be honored, rich and celebrated among people and other deities. The related Ifa lines that came out for Ayanagalu after divination included: Ose Ologbon (Ose lotun, Oturupon losi), Okanran lotun, Ogunda Meji, Ifa Amulumola (Okanran kangun, kange, Okanran kange, Kangun) where Ifa told AyanAgalu that he would make a lot of sacrifices using materials include stick, skin and drum belt for the sacrifice. These have since remained drumming tools till date.

Oduduwa race pioneered drumming and songs(Music), endowed by the Almighty Olodumare. In appreciation of this development, deities started  to call Ayanagalu to their ceremonies because only AyanAgalu could so entertain the deities who would pay Ayanagalu to grace their Occasion, the materials(drumming tools) of sacrifice of Ayanagalu, beat the drum and sing to lighten up their events as earlier divinated

Records have shown consistently that Oduduwa race is always at the forefront when it comes to celebrations and ceremony, this is because AyanAgalu belongs to the race.

The Ooni uses this medium to invite drummers and cultural tourists in Nigeria and beyond, to the Annual AyanAgalu Festival holding on the 28th July, 2023 at the Ife Grand Resort in Ile-Ife. He has equally constituted a high-powered delegation to represent him at the World Drum Festival which simultaneously holds at Mississauga Ontario Canada same day.

Osun Govt. Bans Olu of Ile-Ogbo From Participating In Land Transaction

Osun Govt. Bans Olu of Ile-Ogbo From Participating In Land Transaction

The Osun State Government has banned the Olu of Ile-Ogbo, HRM Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje Arowo Okunjoye II from participating in land transactions in his domain.

The ban directive was issued today following his appearance before the Osun State Attorney General and Commissioner for Local Government and Cheiftaincy Affairs, Akande Oluwafemi Jimoh and

Dosu Babatunde, respectively.

The decision becomes necessary to curtail frequent alleged cases of landgrabbing by the monarch within Ileogbo and surrounding villages.

It could be recalled that many people from Ile-Ogbo township, Eleni and Moomu Abimbola villages have written several petitions against the Oba Abeeb on his royal conducts of forceful acquisition and sales of subjects land, and subsequent intimidation of innocent land owners using the judiciary and the police.

He was banned from participating in land transactions and using any of his palace cronies to engage in forceful acquisition of citizens land. He was told to warn his emissaries and accomplices mostly the head of Ile-Ogbo princes, Gbadewolu Oyelami Kasali and other chiefs he uses to perpetrate the illegality.

"Aside from numerous newspaper publications, we have received petitions against the Palace and office of the Olu of Ile-Ogbo, HRM Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje Arowo Okunjoye II of forceful land acquisition and sales"

"Most of those publications and petitions are pointing to the state government as an accomplice. Just two days ago, it was boldly written on the front page of The Guardian Newspaper, of helpless people seeking government intervention. To sustain the integrity of our government and ensure a peaceful atmosphere in Ile-Ogbo and adjoining villages, the Olu of Ileogbo should stop engaging in land transactions in whatever form within the Ayedire Local Government pending our investigation."

"We have set up committee to investigate and come up with report and recommendations. The warning should be respected. Anyone whose land has been taken unjustly or forcefully should not hesitate to get across through the Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs"
