When A Man's Door Never Closes, History Keeps Records

When A Man's Door Never Closes, History Keeps Records

In politics, some doors are automatic, they open only when cameras arrive and shut once promises are made. But in Ijesaland, there exists a rare exception: Hon. Ibukun Fadipe, a man whose door has remained open, not for show, not for strategy, but for people.

Since the PDP movement took root in Osun State, Hon. Ibukun Fadipe has not known the luxury of locking his gate against party members, leaders, youths, or the ordinary man on the street. His house has become a refuge, his ears a listening post, and his shoulders a resting place for shared pains and collective hopes. If leadership were a marketplace, he would be the trader who sells empathy, courage, and action, without inflation.

While others calculate politics with calculators and conscience with excuses, Hon. Fadipe measures leadership in human lives touched. He has laughed with the people, cried with them, and stood with them when it was unpopular to stand.

That is not weakness; that is strength with humanity.

Hon. Ibukun Fadipe is not a decorative leader. He is courageous, dogged, and ever battle-ready, not a keyboard general but a field warrior. Young, energetic, brave, and tireless, he does not retreat at the sound of resistance. He advances with clarity, conviction, and courage.

At a time when the collective interest of Osun East is being traded by political scavengers, men who feed on ambition and vomit promises the people are in dire need of a different breed of leadership. We need a man who values humanity over hunger for power, service over self, and people over personal gain.

Osun East does not need political lilliputians masquerading as giants. We need a political juggernaut, rugged in resolve, firm in action, and fearless in purpose.

Let it be known: the people of Osun East must not rush decisions out of desperation. This is not the season of haste but of clarity. Not the time for noise, but for strategy. The people must be resolute, firm, and rugged, ready to act decisively at the appropriate moment.

History favours those who wait wisely, and rewards those who choose rightly.

Governor Adeleke Knocks Bola Oyebamiji, Flaunts his in Government's Impressive Records in the Health Sector

Governor Adeleke Knocks Bola Oyebamiji, Flaunts his in Government's Impressive Records in the Health Sector

Governor Ademola Adeleke has described comments ascribed to Mr Bola Oyebamiji on the state of Osun Health sector as “a baseless disinformation attempt” which only deepened the isolation of the opposition candidate in the minds of the public.

“It is like the opposition candidate is living in another world because Osun today and from 2024, is number one across the South West in the area of provision of primary health care. When the Ikire man was in government, Osun was nowhere within the 10 digits.

“Over 200 health centres were renovated under my watch and another phase of renovation is presently ongoing. Under the previous government, the APC candidate was part of the committee that mismanaged the 20 million dollar World Bank grant meant for renovation of primary health care centers. Osun won't return to the days of insensitive leaders.

“Unlike the APC government under which Mr Oyebamiji was a key actor,  we upgraded hospitals with medical equipment and facilities for proper care. Our scorecards include procurement of modern operating materials for the wards and operating theatres;. purchase of digital medical devices, including sphygmomanometers, pulse oximeters, thermometers, and CPAP machines (VAYU models); acquisition of an electrophoresis (Genotype) machine, digital X-ray printer, and automated electronic device to enhance diagnostic capacity; establishment and commencement of renal dialysis services through a Public–Private Partnership arrangement; procurement of air conditioners for clinical units and patient care areas through donor support; establishment of a new theatre pharmacy, providing immediate access to essential drugs and consumables within the surgical complex; and provision of a mini-bus for hospital use and an ongoing project for a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) among others.

“As a humane government, our Imole Medical outreaches benefited close to 100, 000 residents. Indigent  residents in need of surgeries were attended to on three occasions across the nine federal constituencies with more still planned for the 2026 session. Our government has approved renovation of two General Hospitals. Other renovations and upgrades will follow.

“Under the APC candidate, the medical associations and staff in public hospitals were financially strangulated and treated as sub-humans. Under my watch and within the context of workers’ welfare, I went extra miles to restore the dignity of medical personnel. I care for the resident medical doctors among others.

“Our government approved and implemented the  Medical Residency Training Fund at the Osun State Teaching Hospital, the first state owned teaching hospital to implement this in the entire country. We approved and implemented new hazard allowance, accoutrement allowance, new minimum wage, 50% tax waiver on call duty allowance and shift allowance, one for one replacement of doctors, and renovation of all the doctors call rooms.

“Our government regularized previously unconfirmed staff from the 2012 and 2013 employment batches; conducted and implemented promotion exercises  for nurses and other categories of staff, restoring due career progression; approved increment in allowances for contract staff and visiting consultants, alongside wage improvements for casual workers; ensured payment of outstanding debts alongside restoration of pharmaceutical suppliers and essential supplies among others”, the governor was quoted in the statement.

While describing the above as small highlights of the administration’s accomplishments in the health sector, Governor Adeleke said Oyebamiji should be ashamed of the sordid records of a government under which he was a key player, positing that Osun health sector has become a model attested to by the state winning the primary health care challenge in both 2024 and 2025.

He lamented that Oyebamiji is a leading actor in the drive to strangulate Osun financially, wondering how somebody who is working day and night to stop Osun from developing can still be bold enough to deliver fake promises at a gathering of medical professionals who are benefitting immensely from the present administration.

Adire Hub is Next Phase of Osun Adire Initiative - SSG

Adire Hub is Next Phase of Osun Adire Initiative - SSG

The organising committee of the Adire Osun Festival has appealed to stakeholders to properly understand the agenda of the state government for the sector, clarifying that the next phase of the programme after the ongoing festival is the development and nurturing of the Adire industrial hub for practitioners and entrepreneurs.

In a statement signed by its chairman who is also the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye, the committee narrated that the current activities are designed to revive the culture of Adire patronage and the reassertion of Osun as the birthplace of Adire.

He clarified the government position that the festival and the carnival are targeting acceptability of adire among all strata of the society after which the government in partnership with the private sector will develop an Adire Industrial Hub where entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the sector can operate and market their products.

The committee chairman who referenced his earlier meeting with the Adire makers submitted that the government’s plan for the Adire industrial Hub is not a 2025 plan, citing several factors including financing, land approval and industrial hub design.

“ I am therefore reiterating that developing an Adire Industrial hub is not part of the ongoing plan. We have secured the authorisation of Mr Governor to work on the industrial hub in the nearest future to take care of the interest of private sector actors across Osun state.

“ I am also appealing to the Adire makers to understand the policies and programmes of the government for the sector. When finally the hub is to be created, the Adire makers will be duly included in the processes. This is what was done for Ajegunle society as well as the Osun State Chamber of Commerce.

The Osun State Government remains committed to the promotion, protection, and development of Adire as a cultural heritage and an economic driver. We believe that sustainable growth in this sector requires collaboration between government and the private sector, not misinformation or unnecessary tension.

I urge all stakeholders to act in good faith and engage constructively as we collectively work towards building a viable and enduring Adire economy for Osun State.
