GOVERNOR ADELEKE WARNS APPOINTEES  AGAINST CORRUPTION, BAGS PDP ENDORSEMENT FOR 2ND TERM

Osun state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has warned political appointees against corruption and abuse of office in their various ministries and agencies.

He handed down this warning today at the 2024 prayer programme of the state’s Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) where he was publicly endorsed as the governorship flag bearer of the party for 2026 guber polls.

Addressing party stakeholders and top officials of the state government, Governor Adeleke said “from the outside, we are inside as officials of the government. Those yet to be reached will soon get accommodated. Those already appointed should be mindful of public service regulations. 

“Let me use this opportunity to warn our party members holding various offices to be good representatives of the party. We are a party of law and order, due process and rule of law. We must comply with the law in all our doings. 

“Appointees must know their rights and responsibilities. As board members , you are not to be involved in the day to day running of the agency. That is the turf of the management of the agency. But as a board, you have supervisory roles on the management in line with policies you set at your board meetings and in line with laws setting up the agency. All appointees must take note of this separation of functions.

“I had earlier warned all appointees to beware of self serving posture. We are in office to serve the people.This administration will not tolerate corruption and abuse of office and powers either by appointees or management of the agencies. We will impose heavy sanctions on those who breach state laws”, Governor Adeleke told the party stakeholders.

While recalling the rot inherited from the previous government, the Governor said his team devised several strategies and tactics to provide much needed solutions. 

“Our efforts paid off in several areas. God provides us with wisdom and directions, leading to ongoing attention to workers welfare, infra upgrade, water provision, school rehabilitation and widening of health access to our people.

“Since we took over a year or so ago, we have launched a series of reconstruction efforts to achieve recovery. Your government since inception has equally been delivering  democratic dividends to the good people of the state. Everywhere in Nigeria and abroad, our good work attracts commendation and applause from Osun people at home and in the diaspora.

“I am happy to congratulate you all that your government has not failed the people. We have kept faith with our electoral promises. We are directly addressing the wishes and aspirations of our people. In all our conduct as a government, we have carried the party along to ensure those who worked reap the benefit of their labor.

“As a pro-people leadership, we have used the party structure to service our people. The goal is to strengthen the party as the platform on which we all got into office. We are going to do more  for the party in 2024”, he said.

Governor Adeleke said several programmes have been lined up for the benefit of the state, her people and our party members, calling on party members to unite for the good of the party and the state.

“Permit me to also inform you all that we have kickstarted the reconciliation process. We are to build a united strong family. I call on us to embrace the peace and unity movement. Henceforth, there should be no more segregation. We are all one happy family”, he noted.

Earlier, the party through its state Working Committee announced its  endorsement of the Governor for a second term in 2026.

Speaking for the working committee, the State Publicity Secretary, Hon Ayodeji  Areola said the party has decided that there will be no vacancy in Osun state come 2024.

“I have the directive of the party in Osun state to announce that there is no vacancy in Osun Government House come 2026. We declare today that the 2026 governorship ticket of PDP is for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“ The party took the decision because the Governor has performed creditably well and has not betrayed the confidence reposed in him by the party and the people of Osun state”, Hon Ayodeji noted.

State chairman of the party, Hon Sunday Bisi eulogised the state Governor for making the party proud since assumption of governorship, noting that the prayer session was to thank God for successes of the past and the victory of the future.

Gov. Adeleke wades in, Vows to sanction erring officials

ILA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION CRISIS: GOVERNOR ADELEKE WADES IN, VOWS TO SANCTION ERRING OFFICIALS

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has waded into the crisis rocking Ila Orangun College of Education, directing an immediate investigation into the controversy.

The Governor directed that his Chief of Staff should lead a small committee to investigate the matter. The Committee also included the Secretary to the State Government and Commissioner for Education among others to host a crisis resolution meeting between the school management and the Governing Council.

Reacting to accusations and counter - accusations between the Chairman of the Governing Council and the College Provost, Governor Adeleke directed the committee to look into the subject of controversies and ensure amicable resolution of the crisis.

“I have read various statements and allegations emanating from Ila Orangun College of Education. I have also been briefed about the conflict between the school management and the college Governing Council. The Committee is hereby directed to call a meeting of both parties.

“The Committee is to review all issues including questions of financial malpractices within the College system and propose a comprehensive accountability and transparency system.

“Let me warn that anybody implicated in any wrongdoing, financial mismanagement or corrupt conduct will face heavy sanction. I announce that I will not shield anybody no matter how highly placed”, the State Governor noted.

The committee is expected to report their findings and recommendations to the Governor within two weeks.

 THE FAKE AKEWI AND HIS FALSE MESSAGES

You must have listened to an ewi by a purchased artist who voncorted lies to attack Governor Ademola Adeleke. I listened to the ewi and I can tell my readers the contents are lies from the pit of hell. 

I am sure the singer and the sender of this video know nothing about osun state. Or they are mischievous. Or they are members of the olule group still at pain over the loss of the governorship. All the allegations raised are baseless and mere fake news.

First he mentioned the question of who the contract is awarded to. All Osun government contracts were advertised and awarded in line with due process. If the Akewi is not illiterate,he will know that details of any awarded contract can be gotten from the Government using the Freedom of Information Act. There was no diversion of public funds and the jobs were being done as stipulated. Much more, the evidence of many jobs done are seen by all.

Secondly, the political Akewi raised false alarm over the palliative fund remitted by the Federal Government from monies owed the states.The Akewi lied when he asserted that only repairing of buses was done from the two billion naira palliative fund. By repairing the buses, the Governor was being prudent. Oyetola left those buses to rot away

The wage award of N15,000 and N10,000 for workers and pensioners were sourced from the N2 Billion. The workers and pensioners are not ingrates as they appreciated the Governor by giving him an award

The N7 Billion infrastructure intervention fund refunded by the Federal Government is meant for infrastructure upgrade. Governor Adeleke created a special project account where the N7 Billion  was put for use under the government multi billion naira infrastructure plan announced a few months ago. Akewi is clearly a liar as demonstrated above.

Also the man promoted fake news  by saying that no rice was shared. The sharing was publicly announced and was handled by a committee made up of members from.various public organisations. The sharing was televised live for many days.

On the Imole Youth Corps, the project is coming to support the youth with skills they can apply for bigger jobs. The youth corps is already in budget 2024.

So all what the Akewi  said was therefore mere tissues of lies.

As I listen to the ewi, I think both the.Akewi and those who gave the akewi the job are a bunch of shameless people.  

An APC tthat left Osun with over N500 billion debt should be ashamed to condemn a government that is clearing the mess. 

An APC government that left over 100 billion naira half salary and pension is not morally right to question Governor Adeleke who is paying back those debts. 

An APC government that abandoned several road project should be reprimanded for attacking a Governor Adelekw that is completing those roads and projects. 

An APC that punished workers and pensioners should be booed for the effrontery to question a Governor Adeleke that is putting smiles in the faces of workers.

An APC that looted contributory pensioners money and cooperative funds is wicked enough to abuse a Governor who is attending to those debts.

The Akewi who was paid peanuts did not know that the APC government looted government quarters and went away with government cars and vehicles. For almost a year now, the state has been struggling to buy replacement cars and rehabilitate government quarters looted by the paymaster of that Akewi. 

Instead of asking his paymasters to return looted vehicles, the shameless Akewi is questioning the efforts of the government to provide operational vehicles foe government officials. What a shame!!

I must also clarify that Dr Deji Adeleke has no son as a contractor in Osun state. The Adeleke family is blessed by God and neither Dr Deji nor any member of the family is involved in any contract in Osun.

The Ewi is an attempt to blackmail the state government but it has failed. Osun people know the truth and they can see the performance of Governor Adelekw all over the sector. 

Two points to close. First not everybody is a thief as was witnessed under the APC government. Governor Adeleke is from a billionaire family with the main focus of serving the people of Osun state.

Secondly, the current hardship facing our people was triggered by policy decisions in Abuja. Governor Adeleke is doing well to relieve the pain of the people and develop the state.

Liars and political idiots masquerading as lovers of the people should prevail on their paymasters to return vehicles charted away from Osun. The government will soon go after them.

Hon. The chairman of Ife Central West Local Council Development Area, Hon Ayobami Folorunsho, has called on leaders in the country to work for the unity and growth of the country, saying this would develop the country as the nation is facing serious economic hardship.

Ayobami disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Ile-Ife during the weekend, called for unity of all and sundry, stressing that the growth and development of the country depend on leaders.

He warned against discrimination among politicians, ethnicity and even religion. Ayobami noted that if there is discrimination among politicians, playing politics of ethnicity and religion would not assist in the growth of the country.

He said there is neither development nor unity where ethnicity and religion reign supreme, adding that leaders need to speak in unison to move the country beyond expectation that would make the citizens proud of the country.

The Chairman therefore, appealed to citizenry to speak in one voice, so as to move the country forward

INFORMATION REGARDING THE INCIDENCE OF THE SCREENING EXERCISE ON TUESDAY, 2ND OF JANUARY, 2024

Sequel to the incidence of what happened during the stipulated time for the screening exercises for all aspirants for the forthcoming fums national elections on Tuesday evening.

During the process of the screening exercise, each of the aspirants were being called one after the other to know the credibility rate of each of them. 

At a point in time,  the presence of a concerned stakeholders and a core politician*(Oyebanji Faith John)* who was the 2018 FUMS National Senate President and a candidate for the Osun State house of Assembly under the Political umbrella of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in the last Osun State House of Assembly election was noticed at the screening premises at the modakeke town hall. 

Oyebanji Faith John was earlier seen intimidating  an incumbent member of FUMS National executive ( Oludele Mary Bright) she initially was aspiring for the office of the FUMS national financial secretary. But he used his influence on the electoral committee members to change her portfolio to the office of the welfare director on that faithful day.

In the process of the screening exercise, i as the accused candidate had an issue with the electoral committee due to the Network problem that occurred in accessing my school Portal to show my evidence of proof as a genuine student of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo university (OAU). Coincidentally during proving my studentship a call came in from one of my chapter stakeholders  (Captain) who served as the chapter president in the year 2013 to ask about how the screening went,and i told him the situation of things. In his response (Captain) assured that all will be resolved and all needed at that time is patience.

Taking into consideration, the speculations being spread by information carriers that the candidate brought thugs to the screening ground is far from the truth. 

I neither brought thugs nor invited thugs to the screening ground. 

I only informed  Captain of the situation of things as stated earlier. 

Those who came are not thugs but stakeholders well known and neatly dressed for clarification. And they came to make resolutions with the electoral committee. 

To make clarifications, it wasn't my issue that led to the saga. What exactly led to the saga was when it was noticed that comrade Oyebanji faith John started using his influence on the electoral committee asking them to change the post of a particular candidate (Oludele Mary Bright) from EKSU chapter. She was been easily intimidated and somehow threatened by the concerned stakeholder (Oyebanji faith John).

Furthermore, I hereby inform the generality of Federated Union Of Modakeke students and members of the public that myself as the accused candidate from the notable chapter did not invite thugs or hoodlums to disrupt the screening exercise. It was at the screening level that a call from my respected stakehold (Captain) from OAU enter and he asked if everything has been concluded as far as the screening is concerned and i told him that i noticed the presence of some people who are no longer students, John Oyebanji and Morakinyo a member of Sowore's political party, AAC, influencing and instructing the electoral committee members, so he can also come in to lias with them, which I supposed was a normal thing to do,since (Oyebanji John Faith) and Morakinyo (Moray) who are politicians and also stakeholder are getting involved  too due to his interest that is visibly seen when influencing the electoral committee members by changing the aspiration form of (Oludele mary Bright).

Also, the *Osun state Commissioner for transportation(Hon. Oyedele Ephraim Olusesan)* has been an active and supportive philanthropist for the union over the years back even before his emergence as the Honourable commissioner for Transportation. 

These are some of the developments he has done so far for the union: 

 *2021/22 regime_  #200, 000 support from Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro for 2022 Annual FUMS Summer school programme*

*For 2022/23 Administration The union has benefited from the following initiatives:*

*(i) #50, 000 support for the 2023 Annual FUMS National week*

*(ii)Donation of Imole de bus for the Annual FUMS Week for the recreational trip to Erin Ijesa Waterfall* 

*(iii) #20, 000 support for FUMS Ede Chapter Akoraye day on campus*

With the above recommendations, this has revealed that the Hon commissioner for transportation is truly an individual, a progressive minded leader that wants the progess of the union and not someone that can disrupt the activities of the union and send hoodlums to disrupt the electioneering process of the union.

In conclusion, So far the information carriers, IFUMSEC 2023, Incumbent FUMS national president(Adeniji Alex A. )  has  debunked lots of  information and speculations to different media, then here I stand to say that the accusations was false, bias and baseless.
